Description
Our summer tween program with RicRACK! was a huge success, inspiring creativity, collaboration, and a deeper love of the arts. Building on that momentum, we’re excited to introduce a dedicated Tween Arts Program for ages 9–12.
These focused, in-depth classes are designed to deepen skills, foster confidence, and provide a supportive, craft-rich environment where tweens can explore their artistic voices.
Program Highlights
– Structured, skill-focused curriculums: Engaging, project-driven classes with clear objectives and outcomes led by experienced instructors
– Hands-on studio time: Ample opportunities for practice, experimentation, and portfolio-building
– Small cohorts: Individual attention and meaningful peer collaboration that push skills while keeping classes fun and accessible
– Clear progression: Students can track growth in a supportive environment that celebrates curiosity and personal expression
Tween Curriculum
– November 24 | Makeup & Special Effects with Sabrina Blunt: Create playful, safe special effects—from pumpkin transformations to turkey-inspired makeup—while exploring theatrical makeup techniques.
– November 25 | Paper Mosaics with Charlie Peeler: Design and create colorful paper mosaics using hand-cut shapes to explore color, texture, and pattern—each artist will take home a finished mosaic masterpiece!
– November 26 | Photography with Traven Stout: Make our own camera obscuras using simple materials and discover how light creates an image. It’s part art, part science, and all magic!
Guest Artists
– November 24 | Cha Wa – Soulful Sounds, Unforgettable Performances: Cha Wa, a Grammy Award–nominated ensemble, returns as a favorite Master Guest Artist, celebrated for their unique blend of cultural sounds and Second Line music.
– November 25 | Laveau Contraire – The Enchantress of New Orleans: Laveau Contraire is a drag superstar celebrated for her beauty, humor, and undeniable stage magic. Laveau proves that true magic happens when authenticity takes the stage.
– November 26 | Bobbi – Movement with Purpose: From church pews to global stages, Bobbi has danced with icons like Big Freedia, Macy Gray, Billy Porter, and Drake. She inspires young artists to move with purpose, joy, and confidence.
